PABLO LOZANO - Biography

Mexico 1979. Director, Screenwriter, Producer and Editor. Graduated from the EICTV (Cuba), and has a Master’s Degree from ESCAC film school (Barcelona).

Special Productions Coordinator at INTEC University in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where he designed and launched the Film And Audiovisual Communications Degree Program in 2017.

His works have been shown at: International Film Festival of Havana, Latino Festival of San Diego, Panorama Film Festival of Toulouse and International Show of Ethnographic Film of Brazil.

His his short fiction "Agua" was selected: Girona Film Festival, Sao Paulo Short Film Fest, Minikino Film Festival Bali, Icarus International Film Festival Guatemala, Golden Dragonfly Film Fest Dominican Republic, Latino Shorts Film Festival of NY, Post Mortem Film Festival Mexico, Short NY, Indiewise Festival Florida, Festival of The Americas NY.

He coproduced the feature film "Todos Somos Marineros" (Dominican Republic / Peru) by Miguel Angel Moulet, that premiered in Rotterdam and won the FIPRESCI award at Cinélatino de Toulouse.

As a scriptwriter and producer, he won the DocTV Latin America 2017 award.

He produced the feature film "Candela", (Dominican Republic/France) by Andrés Farías, selected in Sundance Screenwriters Lab 2016, La Fabrique Cinémas du Monde 2018, Sundance Editing Residency and Sundance Music Residency 2019.

He currently produces the feature film “PEPE, the imagination of the third cinema” (Dominican Republic/Namibia/Colombia) by Nelson Carlo de los Santos (director of COCOTE, Golden Leopard, Signs of Life, Locarno Film Festival) awarded the DADD residency and the Hubert Bals Script and Development Fund.

He is currently shooting his first feature film “Aunque Sea Ver el Mar”, a non fiction hybrid film about JOSEFINA, a 14 year old girl facing school and domestic violence in a surreal afro magical world.
